Episode 42 - Wayuu Backpack

Episode 42 - Wayuu Backpack

In this episode, the emotions are incredibly high after the United States has chosen to elect Donald Trump as president. I tried my hardest to keep those emotions in check, but after re-listening to my interview with Daniela Castellanos from Wayuu Backpack I just couldn't hold back anymore. The Wayuu backpack is way more than just a carrying device. Every pledge supports and provides work for indigenous women in Colombia, supporting local artisans and preserving hand craftsmanship. Daniela not only is creating a fashion forward handbag, but she is also creating jobs in the Wayuu community. The collection is made using the finest hand crochet techniques and with 100% soft leather. We want to maintain the human element in our products whilst keeping alive a tradition and making a social impact.
Stylish and versatile the Wayuu backpack will go everywhere you go, whether it’s everyday life in your city or discovering new places. The Wayuu bag represents self-expression and self-discovery; take it with you on your adventures and together we can explore the world. I hope you enjoy this episode even through the technical glitches.
